Quote of the Day

The Lessons of History Lost, Repeated

A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the worlds greatest civilizations has been 200 years. Great nations rise and fall. The people go from bondage to spiritual truth, to great courage, from courage to liberty, from liberty to abundance, from abundance to selfishness, from selfishness to complacency, from complacency to apathy, from apathy to dependence, from dependence back again to bondage

Alexander Fraser Tytler
Professor of Universal History, University of Edinburgh

(Editor’s Note)

The United States is a Constitutional Republic, governed by The Constitution and the Rule of Law. Trash The Constitution, ignore the Rule of Law and we risk our very destruction.

To quote Dr. Ben Franklin, “We’ve given you a Republic, if you can keep it.”

About American Political Orphan

Orphaned! The Democrat and Republicans In Name Only, (RINO)s, have lost touch with the American People. They have become the political elite and We the People have become just "fly-over country." I am not a Nazi, a terrorist, a member of the KKK, a racist, a gun nut or a member of an angry mob. I'm not a birther, teabagger, truther or astroturfer. I do, however believe in the original intent of the Founding Fathers, The Bill of Rights, the United States Constitution and the rule of law. I believe that Government should serve the People, not the other way around. I'm an American and conservative to my very core. I feel like an orphan. An American Political Orphan
